Albuquerque Why Albuquerque? I loved it, and maybe YOU will too!

In albuquerque every October,there is the greatest collection of hot air balloons in the world. In 1998, there were over 800 balloons and their crew that participated in the eight day event.

The balloons came from all around the world compete in air races, accuracy flight, and other air balloon activities.  For the spectator, it is one of the most impressive experiences ever.  The one thing I felt was truely unique was that the spectators, you and I , could get right to the balloon and crew before takeoff.  The crew enjoyed showing off the equipment and explaining its function.

We stayed in a travel trailer, in a campgrounds that is part of the Balloon Fiesta, just south of the airfield.  This was a great way to see everything.   If you stay in a motel, get as near as possible because the traffic can get bad in the morning (at take-off) and in the evenings (during special events).
