In a recent magazine, I found some interesting comments on navigation between web pages on a site. The thoughts can be summerized as follows:

1. Use text links, not picture links
2. Include links at page bottoms
3. Include a site map in outline form
4. Don't use frames
5. Don't change location of navigational elements
6. Keep all pages within four clicks of each other
7. Don't include search capabilities
8. Provide multiple pathways
9. Don't give too many options for places to go
10. Review navigation objectively

These appear reasonable and I have tried to use most of these at this web site.
